Assiniboine Community College renovated shop space to facilitate pipe fitter education programming. The renovation to the shop included installation of an applinace venting system to vent the n.gas fired appliances within the shop. Two common venting systems were designed and installed for both the main floor and mezzanine n.gas fired appliances within the shop.
Features of the new common venting systems included a variable speed exhaust fan to vary speed as required to maintain a slight negative pressure at the end of the common venting system. The common venting system design and materials were reviewed/approved by the Office of the Fire Commissioner prior to implementation.
The project was custom in nature and required multiple levels of coordination/review with the Authorites Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) including provincial authorities and Manitoba Hydro.
The project demonstrated AESI capabilities to execute a custom design to meet the client requirements while working with all levels of AHJ.
